Replace DC VG-2 Desiccant Breather
Desiccant Breathers Protect Diesel Fuel Storage Reservoirs, Gearboxes, Pumps And Other Industrial Equipment From Moisture And Particulate
Check Valve Design — Extended Service Life
Cross Replace DC-VG-2 features a built-in check valve that provides a system pressure increase without generating excessive strain, and only operates when necessary. This mechanism prevents premature saturation of silica gel and significantly prolongs product service life.
When contaminated air enters the top of the breather, it passes through layered filter media, preventing solid particles from entering the system and causing undue wear to equipment surfaces.

SFT-VG-4 Vent Guard Detail
SINFT VentGuard Series
Gearboxes, reservoirs and pumps all "breathe" in use. As air contracts or expands or as entering fluid displaces air in a system, outside air is drawn in from the atmosphere. Unfortunately, this breathed-in air carries water and particulate that will accumulate to contaminate your system.
A desiccant breather is a straightforward solution to the problem, blocking moisture and particles from entering. Testing of leading competitors has shown that Sinft-Dri Desiccant Breathers average almost 20% greater moisture-retention capacity versus leading brands.
Our unique design features a longer body, which permits 10% greater volume of silica gel desiccant beads when compared to leading competitors, providing extended moisture-retention capacity and longer service intervals.
Advanced Silica Gel
Desiccant removes water from air prior to it entering your system, tank or equipment. Our longer body design allows 10% greater silica gel volume versus leading competitors, providing nearly 20% greater moisture-retention capacity.
Built-In Status Indication
Desiccant gel changes color from blue to pink to indicate that it is removing moisture, as well as when to replace the breather.
Step Up To Superior Protection
When contaminated air enters the top of the breather, it passes through layered filter media, preventing solid particles from entering the breather and causing undue wear to your equipment surfaces. Filtered air passes through a bed of Sinft-Dri™ silica gel, which removes harmful moisture from the air. The silica beads also work to attract moisture from inside the equipment reservoir during service or shut-down, keeping the equipment dry.
The addition of check-valves in our CV breather is ideal for low-flow and intermittent operations in high humidity conditions. Standard breathers provide simple, yet dependable protection from moisture and particulate contamination in lubricants and equipment across multiple industries and applications. These versatile breathers are five times more effective than the leading non-desiccant breathers, providing optimal defense against humidity for your applications.
Application
For example, a gearbox for wind power generation:
Gearboxes in wind turbines differ from those in high-speed machinery. In industrial gearboxes, the progress of failure can occur in weeks, days, or even hours. In wind turbines, the impact of contaminants on slower turning gear drives is slow and insidious. Nevertheless, the mean time between failure (MTBF) for gears and shaft-support bearings can be increased by as much as two to three times by maintaining optimum levels of fluid cleanliness and dryness.
SINFT® designs, manufactures and markets a complete line of Filter and Strainer Replacement Elements which are functionally and dimensionally interchangeable with industrial OEM filter manufacturer elements.
